Boulogne-Billancourt Project

Birgitta Lund was commissioned by Hines/France to develop a photographic project in connection with the new urban development of the former RENAULT site at Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris. The project was photographed during the period September 2006 - April 2008 on the construction sites of L'ANGLE (Viguier Sa d'Architecture) and KNAPA (Norman Foster & Partners).

My thoughts circled around ‘mapping’ out the new/old landscape and transforming the scenery of the construction site at Boulogne-Billancourt into poetic fragments, where traces of a new world rapidly emerged. A world of youth and playfulness. A miniature playground, where scale is distorted, colors have their own meaning, and form just feels free to find its own way. The carefree feeling of a young person - free and full of hope for all the new to come.  A reflection of a new beginning at Boulogne-Billancourt.
